Is this the official Google Search API?

No. Google offers no general SERP API; this endpoint returns live Google results as JSON so you never build or maintain a scraper. Results are the same as a logged-out search in the requested country and language.

How many results per call?

Up to 10 organic results per page by default (num), with page for deeper results. Each page is one credit; cache hits within an hour are free.

Does it include ads or shopping results?

The response focuses on organic results, People Also Ask, and related searches. Ad and shopping units are not included.

Google web search

Google web search results for any query: organic results (title, link, snippet, position), answer box, knowledge graph, videos, People Also Ask, and related searches. Raw payload in data, a clean readable digest in markdown. Field fullness varies by upstream backend (People Also Ask and videos can come back empty). Results are cached for 1 hour — repeat queries are free.
